Major Dhyan Chand: The Hockey Legend
National Sports Day commemorates the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player born in 1905 in Allahabad. Known as the “Hockey Wizard,” Dhyan Chand brought immense pride to India by leading the national hockey team to Olympic gold medals in 1928, 1932, and 1936. His career, spanning over 22 years, saw him score more than 400 goals, making him one of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport. Even after retiring, Dhyan Chand continued to contribute to hockey through coaching and training future players.
