Biometric Integration
APPTOFIT supports biometric integration for gyms and fitness centers to automate attendance tracking and, optionally, door access control.
We currently support the following biometric devices:
- ESSL X990 – Fingerprint + Face ID ✔ Supports Attendance ✔ Supports Door Lock
- MB160 – Fingerprint + Face ID ✔ Supports Attendance Only ✖ Door Lock not supported
1. Supported Features
a. Attendance Only
- Suitable for centers that want only punch-in/punch-out tracking.
- The device will not block entry even if a membership expires.
- After each sync with APPTOFIT (https://apptofit.com), all attendance logs are cleared automatically from the device to avoid duplicates.
b. Attendance + Door Lock
- Only for ESSL X990.
- When a member’s subscription expires, the system:
- Allows a few biometric punches.
- Once the device identifies the member, it deletes their fingerprint (not their user profile).
- This ensures that the member cannot access the gym again until renewed.
2. Membership Expiry & Renewal Process
When membership expires:
- Fingerprint is removed from the biometric device (but stored in the connected system for identity reference).
When membership is renewed:
- The gym admin must re-register the fingerprint on the biometric device.
- This step is required so the member can regain access/do punches.
3. Network & Hardware Requirements
To ensure smooth integration:
- Only LAN-based devices are supported – WiFi biometric devices are not supported.
- Biometric Device and System/Computer must be on the same network – Both must connect to the main router via LAN. – Avoid sub-routers, extenders, or additional switches in between.
- If the computer is formatted – All software access will be lost. – Biometric integration will stop working. – Reinstallation & setup is required.
4. What APPTOFIT Does NOT Support
APPTOFIT does not handle hardware or onsite troubleshooting.
Issues related to:
- Biometric hardware malfunction
- Power supply
- Internet/network issues
- LAN connectivity
- Router problems
…must be handled by the client or their local biometric technician.
